Anna Saunders and I both spend a lot of time giving opportunities for poets to read their work, whether online or at the in-Cheltenham festival and we were thinking that it is about time we did something to promote our own poetry. So we are looking for places and events at which we can read.

Can you help? Do you run an event that would be suitable? Do you belong to an organization that gives reading slots? Or can you introduce us? We are happy to travel. We don't even need paying (although it would be nice) - as organisers ourselves we are very aware of the financial pressures organisations are under.

Here's what we are offering:

Into the Uncanny

Two widely published and prize winning poets draw on the other worlds of myth, magic, legend and more to address urgent, contemporary themes.

Or

The Director’s Cut

We can also offer a reading of our new work plus a Q & A in which we answer questions about about our experience as festival organisers, including applying to read at a poetry festival, what goes on behind the scenes or anything else anyone would like answers to.

About Us

Zoe Brooks is the author of Owl Unbound (Indigo Dreams) - a remarkable book by a highly skilled poet - Nigel Kent , and Fool’s Paradise (Black Eyes), praised for its ‘forceful language and rich heritage of myth’ by Fiona Sampson.  Zoe was included in Michael Horovitz’s Grandchildren of Albion anthology and received praise from Philip Larkin and Yevgeny Yevtushenko. Zoe’s new book continues with this ‘ leap into the uncanny’, with a new collection (Something In Nothing ) which fuses dark fairy tales and contemporary issues. Anna Saunders, (‘a poet of quite remarkable gifts’ - Bernard O’Donoghue), is the author of Communion, Kissing the She Bear (Wild Conversations Press), Struck, (Pindrop Press), Burne Jones and the Fox, Ghosting for Beginners, Fever Few and The Prohibition of Touch (all Indigo Dreams). Anna has been described as a modern myth-maker by Paul Stephenson, and a poet who surely can do anything by The North). Anna’s eighth collection Eurydice in The Ruined House, ( Indigo Dreams), is a darkly coruscating love story that features a cast of gods, monsters, and mortals who strive to find beauty, and solace, in their fractured worlds. Of course you are very welcome to book us singularly as well as a duo.

Thanks for your support.
